About Me:

Life's journey is filled with significant changes, and my own transformative experience began in 2008 with the unexpected passing of my mother. This profound loss shifted my outlook on life and catalyzed my motivation to earn a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology. My mission is to empower individuals through their healing and personal growth journeys through tapping into their inner strength and resilience.

I took the leap and opened my own practice, Crane Wellness in July 2024. This new venture allows me to expand my clinical offerings and provide supervision to provisionally registered psychologists. Prior to this undertaking, I had the privilege of serving as the Clinical Director at the Grief and Trauma Healing Centre for a number of years. My journey in the mental health field began with a decade of experience at a local non-profit agency, where I held various roles including mental health therapist, clinical lead, and consultant to both rural therapists and the Indigenous team. I remain committed to community engagement, currently providing consultant for the mental health team at Terra Centre.

Practice Information:

Whether you identify with people-pleasing, perfectionism, grief and loss, anxiety or stress management my compassionate and holistic services will be adapted to meet your unique needs. I have also supported people through a variety of lived experiences including ADHD, trauma recovery, including residential school and intergenerational trauma, life transitions and identity, women’s health, and personal development/evolution. I also have experience in working with concurrent disorders, individuals with a mental health concern and substance use struggles at the same time. Often, unresolved grief and trauma contribute to this cycle; healing is necessary for recovery.

I utilize a collaborative and adaptable therapeutic approach, combining evidence-based and holistic techniques tailored to each individual.

My approach includes:

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR): An evidence based method for processing traumatic experiences to reduce distress.

  • Somatic and Body-Informed Therapies: These therapies emphasize the connection between the mind and body, promoting healing through awareness and physical presence.

  • The Grief Recovery Method: A structured program designed to guide individuals through the grieving process, helping to facilitate healing and emotional recovery.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): This therapy encourages acceptance of difficult emotions while committing to personal values, enhancing psychological flexibility.

  • Ego State Therapy: A therapeutic approach that focuses on understanding and integrating various aspects of the self for improved mental health.

  • Motivational Interviewing: A collaborative conversation technique designed to enhance motivation for change and foster personal accountability.

  • Mindfulness-Based Practices: Techniques that cultivate present-moment awareness, enhancing emotional regulation and reducing stress.

In addition to these therapeutic modalities, my holistic approach is enriched by my training in Akhanda Yoga (200-hour certification) and Reiki Levels One and Two. This integrated perspective allows me to address well-being from both a psychological and energetic standpoint, fostering a deeper sense of harmony and alignment.

In 2020, I completed a 200-hour Akhanda Yoga teacher training. In February 2024 I took a sabbatical to India where I visited Tiruvannamalai, Arunachala, Ramana Ashram, Rishikesh, the Beatles Ashram, Anand Prakash and Parmarth Niketan. While I was in Rishikesh, I took an introductory Reiki workshop.
